About VAMP

Conceived pre-pandemic and born in March 2020, VAMP is a vocal quintet of formidable female artists touting a motley songbook and a bold red lip. Versatile in style and genre, they are committed to programming and commissioning new work and making classical vocal music relatable for audiences.

VAMP Vocals seeks to create unconventional musical experiences that embrace vulnerability and emotional intensity and provide audiences with a unique ​women-led perspective and a renewed sense of connection to their community, themselves, and the world.

Mary Ashton Gray

Mary Elizabeth Ashton is a versatile soprano who has been performing in Central Texas since 2010. She has performed with groups such as the San Antonio Chamber Choir, Texas Early Music Project, and Austin Baroque Orchestra. Occasionally, she dabbles in musical theater having performed with Zilker Theater Productions and Austin Shakespeare. When not VAMPing, Mary enjoys spending time in Bastrop, TX, where she resides with her family.

Adrienne Pedrotti-Bingamon

Adrienne is a singer, conductor, and composer based out of Austin, Texas, with a passion for choral music. As a singer, Adrienne is a soprano with experience in classical, jazz, and pop styles. As a conductor, Adrienne serves as Artistic Director of Austin Cantorum, an auditioned chamber choir that specializes in illuminating and meditative concerts through creative programming, thematic storytelling, and personal connection. As a composer, Adrienne mostly enjoys making vocal arrangements but has also dabbled in original compositions and easy piano pieces.

Katrina Saporsantos

Katrina Saporsantos is a Filipino soprano, conductor, composer, pianist, arts administrator, voice teacher, and actor. She has performed as an opera singer at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, Merkin Hall, the Metropolitan Opera Guild, Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, and the Cultural Center of the Philippines, among others. Rina is also the Artistic Director of Inversion Ensemble, a chamber vocal ensemble that focuses primarily on new music, with a mission to create art that intersects with and impacts humanity.. She is a fierce advocate of Filipino music and the creation of new music, and programs as much of these as she can in her projects.

Page Stephens

Page Stephens is a mezzo soprano, voice teacher and arts administrator based in Austin, TX with a soft spot for new music and early music. She is a founding member of VAMP, an all-female vocal quintet which champions music by women and living composers. VAMP's debut album will be released in Fall 2025.

Nominated twice as a soloist for a Grammy® and once for a Latin Grammy®, mezzo soprano Laura Mercado-Wright loves singing opera, musical theater, choral music, chamber music, and even the blues. Her work has been lauded by the New York Times as “superb”, “dramatically astute” and “stunningly agile”.
